I am back, i took the day off yesterday due to me and my family having some kind of stomach virus.I didn’t get to talk about the Yankees inviting 20 non roster players to spring training.I am not going to go through the whole list but basically you know most of them. The Yankees have announced some of the signings in the past few weeks.Reid Gorecki, Royce Ring, Marcus Thames etc got the invites and minor league deals with incentives if they make the roster. The 2 top catchers Austin Romine and Jesus Montero got invites along with Kei Igawa. If you forget who Igawa is he is the Japanese pitcher the signed a fews yrs ago that has become a bust.I am thinking the Yankees will give him the chance to be the 2nd lefty out of the pen but I doubt that will happen. The Yankees currently have Damaso Marte but they have other guys who will try and win that job.Wilkens Arias and Jeremy Bleich are 2 left handers to keep an eye on.Arias is 29 so not much of a prospect but held lefties to a sub 200 batting avg last year in the minors.Bleich spent his first year in pro ball last season and is a starting pitcher that could move quickly. It is always good to see some of the prospects and guys fighting for jobs in spring training. If you listen to Temple University head football coach Al Golden?and I try to do that every chance I get, whether it’s on signing day or Fan Fest or Cherry and White day, whenever?you will become conversant in what I call Goldenspeak.”Core values”…you’ll hear that a lot.”Going forward”…that’s another favorite catch phrase of his; so is “it’s all part of the process.”There are a few more, but I won’t write a Golden/English Dictionary here. The point being that before all of that, Golden came up with a phrase he thought enough of to put on the wall at Edberg-Olson Hall, the team’s $7 million practice facility built in 2001.”Hunting a MAC title with local talent.”It’s become a core value, if you will, of the program, err, going forward?so much so that it has appeared in the school’s football media guide the past few years. What you won’t hear Golden say is that he’s going after this Holy Grail, this MAC title, with BCS-level talent. If Hunting for a Title with Local Talent is the program’s self-proclaimed headline, then “by the way, we’re playing with BCS-level players in a non-BCS league” has to be some kind of subhead.I know it’s not as catchy, but it’s true. It’s like the guy wrote on the Akron message board, ZipsNation , after Temple thumped Akron, 56-17, last year.”Let’s face it, guys,” the longtime Akron fan said “Temple is a Big East team playing in the MAC. Wilson of the Texas Rangers.Wilson has been in the major leagues now for five seasons and yes, he has had a couple of good years, but the reality is he has been nothing more than set-up man/reliever in his career.Wilson believes he should start in Texas.Does Wilson have talent? Sure he does. Switzerland, which, despite its 3-1 outcome, was a complete bore, followed by an 8-0 win for Canada vs. Matt Serra will start the main card on pay-per-view.Saturday February6, 2010 6:58 D Wizzle7:00D Wizzle: Dana White thinks that fans want to see two 40-year old guys fight in a main event.Saturday February6, 2010 7:00 D Wizzle7:01D Wizzle: Both fights on the SPIKE TV broadcast were very competitive. As of Thursday, that prediction is down to nine.Logic would dictate that a team coming out with Devin Harris, CDR, Courtney Lee, Yi Jianlian, and Brook Lopez each night would be capable of winning more than four games in nearly 50 tries. The perfect storm of injuries, roster/coaching instability, and mismanagement sent the Nets plummeting to the worst record (by far) in the NBA this year. There’s still plenty of time and a number of games against sub-.500 teams before the Nets have to really start thinking about 9-73.But if they haven’t come to terms with their historically bad pace yet, they’re running out of time to do so in order to make some changes. There are only so many ways you can lose before deciding to do whatever it takes, no matter what, to pick up six more wins in 33 games.Otherwise, those 1972-73 Sixers will be free of an ignominious burden that they’ve worn for nearly 40 years. And these Nets will truly go down as the worst team the NBA has ever seen in a single season.(This writer’s prediction?Break out the champagne, Sixers. And start saying your prayers.Much like “no NFL team would ever go 16-0″ [thank you, Patriots], while the Sixers’ record previously looked unbreakable, these Nets have started to get the “historically awful” stink on them.). The only seasons in which Davidson or Chattanooga has not appeared in a title game was in back-to-back seasons, as Appalachian State faced College of Charleston in both 1999 and 2000. Quick Look at Wednesday Night’s Showdown Between Division LeadersAppalachian State and College of Charleston face each other on Wednesday night and at least on paper, this sets up as truly a mouth-watering affair if you’re a fan of points. We’ve already alluded to the fact that the mid-week matchup will feature the SoCon’s two top individual scorers.
New Orleans Saints, DE Jason Pierre-Paul, South Florida Will Smith, the heart soul of the Saints defensive line, needs help. 5I think Curtis Granderson would fit this spot pretty well at LF. Serra wants to be a part of memorable wars, and a fight against a young wrecking-machine in Condit would fit that description to a tee.The former WEC champion is coming off of a win over Jake Ellenberger and will need to string together wins over top tier competition in order to enter the UFC title picture. Even if so, I feel that Josh McDaniels should of handled it differently. That’s a big bill to fit, but anyone whowatched the Big 12 Championship game where Suh nearly ruined Colt McCoy’s lifeknows that it’s well deserved. The other choice is Oklahoma State’s Gerald McCoy, who isgraded as being more athletic and dynamic than Suh. But I’ve changed so much, and I’m still changing, still figuring out what works and why So that’s my advice: Read, write and don’t be hard-headed. The Red Sox are paying a fair price for what they’re getting, and they can afford to pay someone what they’re worth. (Side note: Anyone who thinks ballplayers are overpaid should reread Das Kapital.

The road hasn’t been very friendly to the Ducks this season (8-15-5).Lately, the power play hasn’t been all that accommodating either. Lee jammed future Hall of Famer Todd Helton and he muscled a grounder to Chase Utley. River Ave Blues’ own Mike Axisa would be an example of a very strong prospect list.Without further adieu, here is the list:30 Dellin Betances, RHP 29 Dan Brewer, OF 28 Greg Golson, OF 27 DJ Mitchell, RHP 26 Jairo Heredia, RHP 25 Kevin Russo, IF 24 Hector Noesi, RHP 23 Jamie Hoffmann, OF 22 Bradley Suttle, 3B 21 Caleb Cotham, RHP 20 David Phelps, RHP 19 Wilkin DeLaRosa LHP 18 Bryan Mitchell, RHP 17 Graham Stoneburner, RHP 16 Francisco Cervelli, C 15 Kelvin Deleon, OF 14 Corban Joseph, 2B 13 David Adams, 2B 12 Ivan Nova, RHP 11 Adam Warren, RHP 10 Jose Ramirez, RHP 09 Andrew Brackman RHP 08 JR Murphy, C 07 Jeremy Bleich, LHP 06 Mark Melancon, RHP 05 Zach McAllister, RHP 04 Slade Heathcott, CF 03 Manny Banuelos, LHP 02 Austin Romine, C 01 Jesus Montero, CI like how Mike put his list together. His experience and level of competition in the Big Ten is very intriguing. I do know that Auburn coaches went to Fullerton to look at offensive tackle by the name of John Cullen and maybe that this when they took notice of Joel Bonomolo.
When I first heard I was going to play over there, family was all I could think of. He would be ready in a two months if allowed to become a heel again, but I’ll give him a bit longer if he stays face, which he will.ConclusionHe’ll be ready, sooner rather than later. After Harvick tore open a hole between the Martin Truex?s 56 and Greg Biffle?s 16, McMurray followed him through and ended up lining up on the outside of the 29 when the next caution came out. 6′6” 280 lbs- There is no questions about Carlos Dunlap’s skills. The questions of maturity are what will trouble teams. His long frame and athleticism will make him a nightmare to block in passing situations.. According to Athletic Director Eric Hyman:?[The arena was] as exciting as any time since I?ve been here.?Of course it was. Look for Graham to be upsetting offensive linemen andquarterbacks on Sunday afternoons. Big Ten ExpansionIs the Big Ten on the verge of adding the University of Pittsburgh? Reports have been filed and rumors have started to swirl that Pitt will be the 12th team.According to the blogoshpere, Pitt players were told about this last night and subsequently tweeted about it.
